We offer self-guided departures, which means that you determine the desired date and duration of your trip based on the route that interests you. You are not tied to a specific group or predetermined dates.

This is an autonomous way to explore the Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean region. Our packages are all-inclusive, so you benefit from our professional assistance and active listening throughout the process. This means that we can assist you at any time to provide support in case of any issues.

What's included in all our self-guided bike packages:

The accommodation booking process (including breakfast), advice, and a preparatory meeting before your departure are handled by travel advisors certified by the Consumer Protection Office.
Luggage transportation between accommodations will be provided by our baggage handling team.

Our bike packages are tailored to three different difficulty levels. Therefore, it's essential to carefully assess your physical abilities to fully enjoy your stay and have a positive experience.

🟢 Recreational (beginner):

Ideal for families or those who prefer to cover up to thirty kilometers per day to fully explore the tourist attractions of Lac-Saint-Jean.

🟡 Bicycle touring (intermediate):

Perfect for those who want to combine tourism and bike rides in their day. Choose one of our packages that offer around fifty kilometers per day.

🔴 Cyclosportive (advanced):

For those seeking athletic challenges, our cyclosportive bike packages are for you. They offer significant elevation gain and longer distances, ideal for intense physical training.

Information on the circuits

The Véloroute des Bleuets 💙

Terrain: The lowlands of Lac-Saint-Jean are composed of hills to the southeast of the lake and some plains further north. Overall, the terrain is fairly flat compared to the rest of the Canadian Shield, on which the Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean region is located.
Distance: The complete tour of Lake Saint-Jean covers a distance of 256 km.
State of the circuit: Entirely asphalted, except for the 15 km crossing the Pointe-Taillon National Park. The portion with the most sections of bike paths is the southern part of Lake Saint-Jean.

The Kénogami Horst ⛰️

Terrain: The Kénogami Horst is a chain of hills forming the natural border between Lac-Saint-Jean and Saguenay. The Horst has irregular relief reaching altitudes of around 180 meters.
Distance: It extends over a distance of 71 km. This circuit starts in Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, at Lac-Saint-Jean, and ends in Shipshaw, on the banks of the Saguenay River. It constitutes the section that connects the Véloroute des Bleuets to the Véloroute du Fjord du Saguenay.
State of the circuit: Entirely asphalted.

The Saguenay Fjord Route ❤️

Terrain: The Saguenay Fjord is a plateau with altitudes ranging from about 400 to 500 meters. There are also numerous deep valleys. The positive elevation gain of the Véloroute du Fjord du Saguenay is approximately 4500 to 5000 meters.
Distance: It extends over a distance of 435 km.
State of the circuit: The Véloroute du Fjord du Saguenay is entirely asphalted.

The Blueberry Bicycle Route 💙

Riding along Lac Saint-Jean: The Blueberry Bicycle Route follows the existing Route 169 network, connecting towns and villages, but does not always run along the shores of Lac Saint-Jean due to private properties. However, you can still enjoy enchanting views along the lake at certain points.

Access to beaches: Lac Saint-Jean attracts many tourists in the summer for its renowned beaches. Note, however, that some are private or reserved for residents. Nevertheless, you will find several public beaches, such as those in the Amicaux Sector, in Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix, and in Saint-Gédéon. Please check the specific details.

The Saguenay Fjord Bicycle Route ❤️

Riding toward Saguenay: The Saguenay Fjord Bicycle Route forms a loop along Routes 170 and 172, not directly following the fjord due to its rugged terrain and the protection provided by the Saguenay Fjord National Park.
